The island is situated north-west from Dubrovnik and it is part of beautiful archipelago Elaphiti. Lopud is in the middle of archipelago and, people say, the most beautiful island.
Surface of island is 4.63 km2, and the higest top is Polačica 216 m. The island is covered, as already mentioned, with beautiful Mediterranean and subtropical vegetation.
On Lopud time stops, there is no traffic, no noise, and no nervose.

On island was built three churches and 33 small chapels. Special place in island is Park Mayeri, famous as the garden of villa from 19th century, where is the collection of rare kinds of vegetation such as bamboo and some rare kinds of cactus, collected from all over the world.

Lopud is presented with sand beaches and turquoise blue sea.
Beside plenty small and hidden bays, the most attractive is the beach of Sunj. Cove of Sunj is gladly visited by many tourist and sailors. The beach is presented whit white sand and approach to sea is ideal for children.
The islanders are real gourmands. They like good food a glace of good vine and they still enjoy in traditional music (call crowd). There are plenty of small private restaurants which offer domestic meals for reasonable prices. There is also a possibility for going on fish picnic.
